Local/Spot Cryotherapy
Local/Spot Cryotherapy
Local/spot cryotherapy is often used in conjunction with Whole Body Cryotherapy. Local/Spot Cryotherapy uses a device that is able to isolate the trouble area. This is commonly used by athletes who have sustained an injury, or anyone who has suffered a sprain, muscle pull, overuse of a particular area or is recovering from surgery.
Local/Spot Cryotherapy is commonly applied to:
- Feet
- Ankles
- Elbows
- Neck
- Shoulders
- Knees
- Hands
- Legs
- Back
The session normally runs 8-10 minutes. For those that follow the Whole Body Cryotherapy session with a Local/Spot Cryotherapy session we often call it an ‘inside/out’ as we invoke the systemic response to speed recovery, inflammation, etc. and the external will reduce the inflammation further in the isolated area.
